Is it possible to overdo OSL? These (not so) sneaky Skaven would like to know

This weekend I had slightly too much fun throwing undirected energy at a whole bunch of projects. While working on about forty Plague Monks, a few warmachines, ten Wolf Rats, a bunch of space ships and some other random stuff I decided I really should finish something. Even if only to create some space on my paint station. I opted to go for these 3D-printed Poisoned Wind Globadiers/Battle Alchemists/Skryre Acolytes.

Is this the local rave? We're completely geared up to dance until the police break it up.

Painting the backlog: Necron Barbie, Diehard Orc and Dwarf, Dwarf Thunderers, Skaven Stormfiends and Skaven Doom-Flayer

 Recently I had a bit of a painting fugue, grabbing models from my Window Sill of Shame and just finishing the bastards. The result is a lot of joy (I finally added paint to the bastards) and a conundrum: how do I blog about painting the bastards. I decided to just throw them together in what will undoubtably be a completely disjointed blog post. Enjoy dear readers ;). Lets fire this one off with the Necron Barbie.

Skaven warplock jezzails, Throt the Unclean, Grey Seer and friends finished

Currently there's no great plan when it comes to my painting. I've been picking up random models on my paint station and applying some pigment to them as whim takes me. This results in quite an nice random mix of finished models. Like the clanrats (actually Skaven slaves), warplock jezzails, Throt the Unclean and Grey Seer I finished over the pas few weekends (not to mention Nagash, but that's for a different post). 

Ah the bad old days when clanrats where available in dirt cheap plastic and Skaven Slaves where only available as (expensive) cast metal. 

Oldhammer Skaven Jezzail Team

As frequent visitors to this blog know, I'm quite a fanatic Skaven collector. Four classic Jezzail Teams are a part of this collection as well as three of the latest edition (late middlehammer I think). Just before Easter weekend I decided to dip one of my classic teams and give them a new coat of paint.

Oldhammer Skaven in a properly oldhammer setting for the picture. I'm still deciding on an airbrushed puff of green for some OSL around the warpstone pellets. Maybe I'll add that at a later stage.

A fresh Warplock Bombardier and yet another Warpfire Thrower added to my horde

My brand new Warplock Bombardier, currently part of the Carrion Empire set, has been covered in paint and is ready to go through the scenario's that come with the box later this week. I have to admit I'm not very impressed with its special abilities (on paper) but the sculpt is cool enough to compensate for it. Just look at the little maniac cackling!

Zzzzap! Finished Skaven Warp Lightning Cannon

I have to admit I'm behind on my blogging. Too much work and the strange need to see my family seem te be blocking my attempts to blather about my hobby online. I haven't even found the time to wax enthusiastic about the newly announced Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay edition (or the yet to be expanded upon announcement of the Age of Sigmar rpg). Then again, it will only arrive around August so there will be plenty of time for ranting and raving with an actual product in hand later. Around the last post I was preparing to paint a lot of different Skaven. As usual I did not finish them all (just yet). I did strip, repair and repaint this classic metal Warp Lightning Cannon.

Blast, blast, blast away my loyal chained up crew....as soon as I've moved to cover away from the machine...
